Hi! I'm Toni Buzzeo, Author and School Library Media Specialist.  Unlike my librarian character, Mrs. Skorupski, I'd be happy to tell you ANYTHING!

I live in a colonial farmhouse in Buxton, Maine, on the remaining 35 acres of an old farm, surrounded by many gardens, with my husband, Ken Cyll. My son Topher Cyll, a software engineer, writer, and music aficionado lives nearby in Somerville, Massachusetts.

NEWS FLASH! My newest prfessional book, ABC, Read to Me: Teaching Letter of the Week in the Library and Classroom offers educators a way to contextualize and enhance Letter of the Week instruction through the use of children’s literature. From A to Z, this book offers an array of delightful picture book suggestions, as well as a variety of engaging reading, writing, thinking, and creative activities to accompany each letter of the alphabet. This book not only serves to extend the learning of the themes and concepts in the picture books; it also work to solidify the letter-sound correspondence understanding that Letter of the Week was designed to promote.

NEWS FLASH! My new Mrs. Skorupski picture book, The Great Dewey Hunt: A Mrs. Skorupski Story was published in March.  A great way to teach Dewey!

NEWS FLASH! Fire Up with Reading is featured on the wildly successful Children's Book Podcast Just One More Book!! Listen in by clicking the PLAY button.
